Bubble Soccer is a type of soccer where players are engulfed in bigger bubbles and run around bumping, knocking, and rolling into each other. It was invented by Henrik Elvestad and Johan Golden in Norway, 2011.
How to play bubble soccer:
o Traditional soccer rules are loosely followed as there are no incidents like off-sides. The game starts with a soccer ball in the middle of the field. The players stand several feet away and when the referee blows the whistle, they run towards the ball at same time resulting in some bubble ballers bumping into one another and rolling on the ground. The real fun happens when they crash into one another and both go flying in different directions.
There is no age limit for you to qualify to play. However, you have to be:
o 4’8 ft or taller
o Less than 240 lbs
o A parent or guardian will need to sign a waiver agreement for a minor can play.
o Other adjustments can be made after inquiry from specialists like doctors.
Note: People with pre-existing conditions like severe claustrophobia, asthma, nausea, pregnancy, head and heart conditions, should consult their doctors before playing.
Bubble Soccer can be played outdoors on soccer fields, grass and turf fields, or outdoors on basketball courts, parks, gyms, carpeted surfaces, etc.
What you should wear:
o Athletic attire and shoes without cleats, knee pads, and eye glasses are acceptable only if you’re blind without them (because they may break).
o No hats, watches, jewellery, piercings or accessories as they rip the bubbles.
